Meet Clark the Camel

Most tree farms have a dog. We have Clark, a camel who arrived as a baby, got his name from a suggestion box full of guest votes, and now has a bigger fan club than the trees.

The naming contest

How a baby camel became Clark

He showed up one season as a baby camel with no name, and for a while that's exactly what everyone called him. So we put a suggestion box on the counter. Guests dropped in names by the handful, some sensible, most not, and when the votes were counted, Clark it was.

He's grown into the name. These days he's the star of a running series on our TikTok, he's the first thing kids ask about when they get out of the car, and he's considerably more patient about photos than most Minnesotans in December.

When the crew had their spring portraits taken, Clark got a session too. Three looks: the profile, the walk, and the one with Jo.

How to meet him

Free event weekends

Clark is out on the grounds during our free event weekends, right alongside Santa, the petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, horse-drawn wagon rides, the playground, and the fire pit, no ticket, no line-jumping fee, just show up. Check Hours & Events for which dates have the full lineup running, since Santa, Clark, and the rest of the crew don't all keep the same schedule.

Bring the whole family: the tire playground, wagon rides, and fire pit tend to keep everyone busy while you wait your turn for a camel selfie.
