White Pine

White pine is distinguished from all other eastern pines by its soft, thin, bluish-green needles, which grow in bundles of five. Its rapid growth rate makes it an ideal candidate for landscape and windbreak use.

White pines attract a wide range of wildlife: the seeds are a favorite of rabbits, red squirrels, and many bird species, and the dense growth creates good habitat and winter cover for birds and mammals. The tree’s shape starts out pyramidal and turns oval with maturity.
